📜 About Taratarini Temple (Shakti Peeth), Brahmapur

Maa Taratarini Temple is one of the most respected Shakti shrines of Odisha, located on the scenic Kumari Hills near Brahmapur in Ganjam district. The hilltop setting, cool breeze, and devotional environment make it a memorable pilgrimage for families and devotees.

In Shakti Peeth tradition, this temple is associated with the Breasts of Devi Sati, and the Goddess is worshipped in the twin forms of Tara and Tarini. The temple is also well known for seasonal gatherings and large crowds during festivals and special yatra periods.

Most visitors plan for darshan along with time to enjoy the hill area and temple surroundings. There may be breaks between darshan sessions, so it’s best to reach early and keep a buffer.

Timings: Darshan is commonly listed from 06:30 AM to 08:30 PM (with breaks in the afternoon depending on ritual schedule).

How to reach: Brahmapur is a key nearby city with good road/rail connectivity. From Brahmapur, taxis/autos take you to the hill approach; local arrangements (including ropeway options in some seasons) help pilgrims reach the temple comfortably.
