📜 About Banke Bihari Temple (Vrindavan)

Shri Banke Bihari Temple is one of the most loved Krishna temples in Vrindavan, famous for its deeply devotional atmosphere and the unique darshan style where the curtain is drawn at intervals. Devotees come here for peaceful darshan, soulful bhajans, and the timeless “Radhe Radhe” energy of Braj.

The temple is closely associated with the Bhakti tradition of Vrindavan. Over time, it became a major pilgrimage spot for Krishna devotees, especially because the form of “Banke Bihari” is worshipped with great affection and intimate sevā, emphasizing love and devotion more than formal rituals.

Darshan timings are seasonal, and the temple also closes in between for bhog and during the afternoon. In the winter schedule (roughly late Oct to early Mar), the temple typically opens 08:45 AM in the morning and reopens 04:30 PM in the evening, with final closing around 08:30 PM. Always plan for crowd movement and short closures during bhog.

How to reach: The most convenient railway point is Mathura Junction, and from there Vrindavan is about 11–12 km by taxi/auto/e-rickshaw (time depends on traffic and crowds). For flights, the nearest airport option is usually Agra Airport (Kheria), while Indira Gandhi International Airport is a common choice for wider flight connectivity.

Visitor tip: Weekends and festival days can be extremely crowded—try the first hour of morning darshan for a calmer experience, and keep valuables minimal due to tight lanes and security checks near the temple area.
